Course information

This module aims to analyse and critically discuss sustainability performance management systems at both business unit and corporate levels. It provides students with content covering the current state of the art in the field and proposes a holistic approach to sustainable performance management. In addition, advanced digital tools (e.g. artificial intelligence, generative AI, and digital twins) are applied to enhance decision-making in sustainability-related contexts and to foster entrepreneurial capabilities.

 

Such a comprehensive approach to management control equips students with the know-how required to design, diagnose, and effectively use performance management systems. The topic of sustainability management is addressed as organisations increasingly adopt corporate sustainability as a managerial approach to simultaneously create value for shareholders and society, focusing on the protection of scarce and non-renewable resources and transforming these constraints into opportunities for efficiency and competitive advantage.
